I didn't have any performance issues but it does indeed need combat/animation adjustments and more life in the world.
Basically it is RoK but much more clunky with a build system that is slightly more complex. Don't do anything new really. Also it just feels dead and empty when you are running around.
yoiu probably wrote your review on the playtest version which is another steam page not accessibel since demo end.
I have a rtx3080 i9-10900K playing with 1080p with everything on low and barely manage to hit 140 fps with dips down to 90 fps etc. Optimization currently is very bad, player made bases tank alot of performance and server load times noticeable increased after just 2 days after a wipe.
no hate, but no interest. i own the game, ive tried it out. its not a survival game, i was mistaken or misled, whichever is fine. there is no day/night cycle. no cold/warmth. no hunger, no thirst. feels like a dead buggy world.
i was told on the discord none of these things would ever change at any point in the game development cycle. i haven't bought many games in the last few years but this one is the biggest single regret.
the one good thing about renown is that it does work on linux at present, which is appreciated. hopefully the new map doesn't crowd everyone in a circle like the old map (assuming anyone other than me ever builds a castle). that old map design had some magical power to destroy immersion imo.
promised a rust style survival game, got a rust style survival game, also the game is unplayable ping wise and the combat is very rough, these things will get worked on first before ur roleplay items
They wanted the focus to be on surviving against other players, rather than having to deal with environments and other players at the same time. It's very annoying to survive a shootout with other players, but die to hunger, dehydration, or frostbite. It's more enjoyable to know that if you win in a big fight, that, so long as you're not bleeding, you will make it back with all the loot.
