Let me destroy my own base

I might be in the Minority but I think that there is 0 purpose to not letting me destroy my own base to expanded it or even shrink it in the manner I see fit. I have a 15 min window and that's it? What I do to my base has 0 effect on any other player and does not hinder the game in any way.

I cant think of any purpose to not let me do so and people suggest "plan your build better" Brother I am just trying to play a recreational early access game. I am not trying to build a fully functional ready to live in condo. I want to build. I want to experiment, and I want to be able to change my mind with my build and not have to siege my own base.
