Blurry at 2560x1440p-- Any fix?
First off, I'm loving the game and will continue to play even with some blurry/pixelated graphics as the core gameplay loop is excellent (the musical score is also fantastic). Regardless, I'm playing at 2560x1440, the text and to a lesser degree the images are not sharp like they could/should be. Is there something I'm missing on my end that could make the game as sharp as I've seen in videos and screenshots? Are there any plans to support higher resolutions?

Again, not a deal breaker as it's not that bad and I really enjoy the game, just testing the waters here to see if there is a "fix". For what it's worth, I'm playing with the fullscreen option, the large/windowed options are better but not good in regards to the blurry/pixelated issue, but I don't want to play on a tiny screen on my desktop. Last bit, when in fights and on the map, the issue isn't as noticable but still present. Cheers.

Resolution is always going to be the current native res, but we are currently working on way so to integrate the various display and window size options from the mkxp.conf file found in the install directory into the game.

Hey DD, are you working on ultrawide as well, by any chance? It'd be great to have. There's many who don't buy games without it (although that would be their loss!)

I was able to smooth out the graphics by setting IntegerScaling.Active = false in the mkxp.conf file.

Part of this issue is that "blurry" and "pixelated" are not only subjective, but to me, they're on opposite sides of a spectrum. Either it's sharp and clean (highly aliased pixels) or blurry/softened.

Due to the subjective nature of this, we really do hope to just give all these options in graphics settings soon.

Actually the blurry text is pixelated, this gives it the impression of being blurry. So it seems to be in full screen but at a very low resolution, or lower to some degree than the desktop.

I have been working on fixing this since the first day I bought it. It has to be something simple that we are overlooking. On you-tube I watched game play on a 1440 monitor and the display was crystal clear and smooth as a baby's bum, so I don't know what's going on.

Wait! This has worked for me also which is mad. A couple of day's ago I went through these settings one by one with no change. The only problem I can see now is that my text looks to large. So it's sort of fixed the pixilation but increased the size of the font.

That has to be a clue for the dev's to as what is going wrong.

**FIXED** Played for a few hours now and no more pixilation.
IntegerScaling.Active = false

Thank you for the response(s). If you want a better example of what I'm trying to explain, check out that imgur link above. The "true" areas are exactly what my picture looks like. I guess to fit with what you are saying, it is sharp, but pixelated. If it is set to false (which I have tried), the pixelation mostly goes away, but the game looks blurry or "softer" to me.

I hope you can see what I'm referencing in those images. For me, I'll stick with it on true as I personally prefer the pixelation as opposed to the softer "blurry" image. I'll just tell myself it's a retro style to not drive myself mad. Sorry for the confusion in my initial post. Cheers.

I'm playing at 2560x1440 too, i found it is hard to believe in 2022, a pc game don't support 2k or 4k resolutions .

I really hope you could support native 2560x1440 res soon!

Yeah, it is now acceptable with this quick fix but I still feel the display is not as clear as it could be so I hope the dev's keep working on true resolutions with the right scaling.

Please add a resolution changer section in the settings. It's a pretty basic setting that's in almost every game.

Typically what I have to do when I start the game up is go into Options, Switch the Screen Size to "Large", and then switch it back to "Full Screen". Game looks smooth after that.

One of the first suggestions I tried but it didn't work for me.
Mine is now acceptable but not really good enough. In a top down and what basically is a war game, crisp graphics are a must, especially when your units are small.
This is a very popular game, I love it, but the game would be sooooo much better if it worked at the right resolutions rather than work arounds.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the dev can crack it.
