ye i can get behind that, everyone likes an underdog and all that, so long as the hard work pays off and i dont spend the whole game looking at another character that's just as, if not stronger, despite being a lower level is cool
If you mean Diana, she'll always be better in some stats than the MC no matter what. Stefan, too, for other stats. The MC is more of a middle of the road type, quite capable but not obscenely OP. Compare to the main characters in some Fire Emblem games (at least, some of the older ones) or Ogre Battle 64 (Assuming you don't keep him from fighting until the final section of the game and is fully promoted, then grind like crazy). Their best attribute'll usually be a stellar Leadership score, meaning they'll command a rather sizable squad by the mid game and may be the first to hit a 9-troop squad unless Lysander does.
2) Compared to late-game redhead cutie not even MC but Diana and Stefan too are absolute weaklings ;) Honestly - mages, dragons and cannons are more powerful then most heroes.
MC strong side in late game that AoE attack is scale from MAG. That mean strong synergy with dragons/mages.
3) Later MC would be capable to ressurect fallen soldiers in battle using "Heal" command.
Oh yeah, i gave her the weapon that gives a extra turn for the squad leader.
Its just our flame redhead and a dragon in front as a tank.
She annihilated absolute EVERYTHING like that.
Its kind of hilarious.
This is why I typically hate these sorts of "threat" or "power" numbers. They're rarely accurate and people rely on them too much. Worse when they're numbers actively involved in formulas... least that isn't true here.
I was playing with Permadeath and without using any temple along the way, and both Diana + MC were always at the front line.
If I had to split the army - for example I had objectives both left and right - I'd send each of them with a part of the army and put them at the front of it. Even without any help both of them were able to wipe clean entire squads without taking any losses.
threat determines enemy targeting ai and is derived directly from stats, with some small multipliers granted from time to tme
Best example (that worked for me several times in my playthrough): Apprentice with any trait + free trait slot (dark or water alignment). He have a few points more threat berfor upgrade to Fire Mage, despite Fire Mage having +stats compared to Apprentice.
