Skull of Rowdain costs 27k gold
Should I buy it? I have been saving the money and rarely spend it for 10 chapters and I have 28k atm. And this item is asking me to spend them all... Is it worth it? For something like this there must be a good use somewhere later. Should I just buy it now or else I might never see it again later... It's an orange item so....

it's good early for grinding up units in arena since it forces surrenders. as a combat item, it's... not great. imo, you should save your money. it's not worth 27k gold, definitely. tho, when i saw it, it was only 13k.

you should use that gold to buy more artifacts or better units.

It's always a good item since when you've unlocked all tech, every rank gain in faction gives you a proof of merit, thus allowing an infinite supply of proof of merits.

As for price, if he has bought artefacts before that the price may have been bumped up.

Also, if you're strapping for cash, head into arena's and sell the xp/cp you get. They give a nice boost allowing you to buy stuff.

Oh this is tough choice... But I guess I will buy it for the sake of collection to carry it to NG+. Thanks for the hints. I am still in the middle of CH 10 I just saw the item on sale in the tent shop.

The amount of gold you generate from surrenders after getting it is kind of insane :>

Buy Buy Buy, you;ll get proofs of merit mad quick with all those P.O.W.s. (I think)

Yeah.

Just did bronze arena. 67 captured netting me 4.2k alongside 67 faction xp and arena rewards.

I suppose gold from surrender is based on unit tier, so on higher tiered units that would be even higher.

Yup, when you finish tech tree the faction xp gives you proof of merits instead.

Highest surrender gold I got from a single map was about 10k, and most of those came from the one skull I beatrix had.

Slapping this one a unit that can take a beating (since you're stuck with low morale) is so good for just having the entire map throw themselves at them and getting captured, it pays for itself and then some provided your squad can survive the beating.

that must've been a change that happened after i stopped playing, then, because when i played the game back when this first came out, that didn't happen... or i just don't remember it.

Barnabas has Mentor trait that will train LDR for teammates. But he himself LDR rarely grow. So if I use him as a leader and put a Benevolent trait (+50% LDR growth from surrenders) on him along with the skull of Rowdain, would this team grow LDR nicely? I am thinking of using this setup on bronze arena to train LDR. Will it work?

It was a pre-dlc feature.
