Risen units. Anybody using them?
I kinda find them lacking and mostly for the middle column, maybe back one, if I'm not fighting some assasins, and the only ones I use are ones with shield or warriors, since spearmen and light infantry ones are fragile. Also Jules can use risen archers pretty well, since archery captain works for them, making them extremely cheap to place. I know that they rob you of experience basically and slowdown troop developement, but skellies are always cool - I grow up playing diablo 2 and thus I will forever love necromancers and undead.

Was wondering that people think about them, maybe there's a nice op way to use them more.

I'm not really sure of any OP way to use them, other than just what I assume is the expected way. They're fodder. They're extremely disposable, and come back for free (and I suspect this is especially valuable if you have permadeath enabled.) They're not going to be better than a full stack, but they are great for taking damage that would have otherwise gone to harm your other squads, with a good chance of getting some of them back by the end of it (especially if you have a necromancer in there, although I so far haven't been able to find a second book, I can only get one.)

I have one risen squad and given them the skull that auto-surrenders defeated units.

You do need to make sure that in the first battle you are the attacker, since you only start with 1 risen per unit and you need to deal damage to gain more. So the more damage you can deal in the first battle, the more risen you will have, thus becoming more durable and such.

Personally I'd have a full front rank of melee, full back rank of ranged, mid rank being necromancer + oracle (to prevent insta hits from enemy archers/mages) and then some spear.

The necromancer can heal itself through its magic attack and if its full health, it'll heal the oracle, whilst any lost risen can be regained while doing damage.

I just started doing the chapters for these things, and so far, about the only potential use I might have for them are bait fodder squads for those times I don't want to risk my bigger squads on pulling a group.
