Been enjoying the game so far.
At Chapt 20 or so and I didn't think I'll like the game so much. Graphics could be better but the gameplay is fun. Some of the dialogue is very cringe though, and not in the good way. The people in the game for some reason use modern slang and lingo when they aren't modern people, they should have their own fantasy medieval versions - unless some of the characters are reincarnators from the modern age ( no clue yet).

There should be easier way to sort squads and items.

Well it's not Earth, doesn't follow Earth's timeline, and doesn't adhere to Earth's social and linguistic development. "Medieval" is a period in Earth.

I used fantasy medieval, not just medieval. Plus using "touche" and other modern lingo just sounds very bad and cringy even for the modern era and isn't very immersive lore wise in the game. Just giving you feedback man. The game so far is very fun.

I just feel the dialogue could be more creative in regards to the world. It would be weird if Gandalf or an Elf from DnD talked like a standard NYC American.

Yeah I know you're just giving feedback. I'm not offended. I'm disagreeing emphatically. The characters are written in my voice but with variety based on their own backgrounds within the fictional setting. "Fantasy medieval" sounds like you think they should all be saying stuff like "thou art" and all that, which is just old English from earth. You're discounting some of the design thought I've put into it with that blanket statement as notice, sayunaari speak differently than veridian, and even within veridia, Emborian speaks differently than midlander, and certainly the barek tor accent is palpable being from a much more exotic location

Up to chapter 7, enjoying it but theirs definitely a clash with this games graphics.
Cut scenes have a chibi rpg maker quality to them yet the characters portraits are ugly 3d portraits out of a western rpg.

The Maps and Battles all look great though.
I'm not very far but so far I'm loving the game myself. I haven't noticed any strange dialogue yet. But that's more cause I'm so overwhelmed by what I'm supposed to do in my camp between artifacts and new hires and all that I just dunno where to start. It would be nice if there was some sort of beginners advice for what each class did or was good at. Unless there is and I missed it. Wouldn't be the first time lol

There is a tutorial section that gives a pretty quick rundown of every generic class.

It was more apparent with Beatrix is when I notice it a lot. And by fantasy medieval instead of saying "Damn it" they can say "Havoc all" or something like that with metaphors and lingo for their world instead of modern ones. I wasn't talking about using old speech though. Instead of "bull turd", "chimera turd" etc. I won't be as creative as you since I don't know what the game world has. It's just some of the vernacular and slang could be more fleshed out like in other fantasy works.

It's just kinda disjointing seeing "touche" and other modern jargon used and maybe using medieval era lingo might work out.

I just can't disagree strongly enough. Havoc all? Bull turd? That's just your specific ideas for how you would create a fictional universe. By all means, do that.

In my fictional universe, some people speak with "Modern American" vernacular, because that's what I am, and that's what I write best. But that's just a baseline. There's so many different dialects and accents. Not to mention that the main organized religion has been very strongly engrained into the world's culture. Everyone says "By Donar" even if they aren't a devout believer.

Those were just random examples that weren't for this game. Do what you want, its your game. Just saying though. Seeing someone in this setting use modern lingo is cringe and pulls me out of the game world quickly. Its quite immersion breaking.

There prob isn't much I can say to justify it that you haven't already heard. Still nice of you to reply and engage with the community though. Its just my opinion so don't take it too personally. JRPGs typically have some cringe in them.

I am literally only complaining because I like the game so much, if I didn't I wouldn't even post here.

Of course. Again, I am not personally offended. I am disagreeing with you in the coldest and most objective possible terms.

"Cringe" truly is in the eye of the beholder
