What Is The Yellow Arrow Up?

In the squad managing screen, do you know when a character is ready to level up, there is a green arrow up on it, indicating you can move up class.

Now I see that one character has an yellow arrow up, what does that mean?

An item to give "object of merit" which allows it to be transformed into Gold.

Be careful, once this transformation is done, you can no longer modify its class.

to do when you are sure not to make any more changes.

I still have no clue what it is, and what item it is? The yellow arrow up is appearing on Barnabas.

It's just bonus stats. Once you have maxed out a class upgrade tree, you can use this item to lock that character into the class and get ~5% more stats than you had before using it. It works best on classes that have a naturally high stat count (like dragons) but all classes benefit from it, and you absolutely should use merits to promote someone who you never want to change. I cant think of a reason to ever change Barnabas from a knight (or whatever his maxed cavalry class is) so he would be a good first target.
