Chapter 15 on permadeath is impossible
On chapter 14, you lose a ton of units. There is no market in between 14 and 15.

So I start chapter 15 with no units, the children get killed, and I lose. Game over.

Huge oversight of game design. I was prompted to save at the start of chapter 15 and now I have no possible way to continue my campaign since my save is overwritten.

Super dumb. Patch it.

You have 3 save slots + the autosave + the quicksave, so how did you get save locked? Did you only use one save slot the whole game? Also, which chapter was 14? I don't recall there being a super hard one that early, so I can probably offer tips? Also, if you didn't overwrite your quick save that might get you back to 14?

Chapter 14 is the level after the last stand one.

I don't save scum and I don't keep multiple saves. That shouldn't be a requirement. This game is largely designed to not save lock you.

There is no excuse for how much of an oversight this is.

I just finished chapter 14 and found it refreshing easy (did save all children). I am on my first playthrough and also playing without the possibility for save scumming. So maby its not only bad gamedesign and you should just overthink your tactics. You can trap the whole castle of chasers in this mission with a good defender cavalry for example. Or sacrfice a def infantry sqad to hold them.

You're not playing permadeath on hard.

If you were, you would know what I'm talking about and you wouldn't have suggested this.

I got through chapter 14 without loosing more than 3 unsignificant units. How have you structured your squads and how have you fought the battlefield? Poorly I assume

If you are playing on permadeath and you don't keep multiple saves, you are choosing to make the difficulty higher than whatever it is set to, so you deserve what you get I guess... Even on the hardest difficulty this game is not very hard if you make proper units, barring a few boss units that cheat stats, and for those, make sure to have 2-3 archer squads.
If you are saying the game is impossible because you lost too many units on the last stand map, then that would be false, because permadeath is disabled on that map. You are meant to lose that fight, but it IS possible to win.

You have your chapters mixed up. Last stand chapter is 13.

Check your facts and make some kind of effort to know what you are talking about before trying to advise me.

I lost more than I could have on chapter 14 because I was trying to completely clear the map. I didn't remember that there was no market between 14 and 15.

Does that mistake justify having the entire run shot? Absolutely not. Don't be dumb.

There is a difference between save scumming, and standard RPG safety saves. It does suck that you are stuck... But i feel like any RPG has moments where you are screwed without an old save, if you came in unprepared. The first Persona game I played, i had to start the whole game over at the final boss, because i didn't use any of the mechanics properly. It is annoying... but most RPGs have moments like this.

(it wasn't the final boss, but close)

This game clearly was not intended to ever have you stuck.

The final chapter, for example, allows you to buy unlimited arena tokens, which allows you unlimited money and experience, which allows you to buy unlimited area tokens....

An autosave should never put you in an unwinnable situation.

I get what you're saying, but not having a backup save seems very optimistic. Games can glitch and you can get locked out. I dunno, i get the frustration but backup saves seem like a necessity in nearly every game. Maybe i've just played too many bethesda games

Please do not berate players who have supported our game, and have legitimate concerns.

To the OP: It's difficult to respond to "Super dumb, patch it" But we recognize the issue, and will think about it.

"legitimate concerns." so not this post?

The concern is legitimate. The name-calling, and the bedside manner, obviously that could use some work. I'm just trying to diffuse the animus here.

I'd be offended if you actually knew how to read.

Not much response required. Honestly a market in between chapter 14 and 15 is plenty.
