Good Game, Disappointing Bonds (Particularly with the MC)
The game delivers on gameplay and story. The only major problem I had was the MC's existence as a person. Never in the game did I feel he/she connected with anyone.
The bond system is atrocious, with friendships/relationships forming out of the blue. Adding a few lines dialogue would help a lot in the regard.
The ending cutscenes completely ignored the MC (apart from the last minute mentions from each character). I had gone with Beatrix and her character slide completely ignored that (while the others lived happily ever after). Even after the patch the MC is borderline platonic with her during the post-credits scene. 'Let's go look for some cultists'?.... No mention of any personal involvement?

When you turn the MC into a tool, which is disregarded after its use.... My fault really, I came here expecting a RPG....

IKR? I also just finished the game but I bonded Diana (because of BIG MOMMY PALADIN) but dang I was so disappointed when there's no interaction or anything besides being bonded. I want my big mommy paladin interactions.Hell I would even accept any text on the post credits like MC became a father figure to Alex but nope. MC got cucked by others and thrown away like a used rag.

The main character does have dialogue with whoever they bond with after the credits. Diana's was pretty good, even.

I also noticed that if you don't bond anyone, for some reason the male MC becomes the female MC for that scene. Which is okay, I guess. Weird though.

Lol, that's it? In FE there's dialogue for every bond level, here there's dialogue only in the epilogue?

That's not even remotely true in any sense of the word. Every level of relationship between every character has a full dialogue.

the OTHER guys romances are the ones fleshed out with higher priority as said above by others just with diffrent words. the OP is absolutely right here. i'm only chapter 8 and can already see the direction this is headed. guys playing this only care about THEIR characters romance, not other guys forced to compete with(and beating you). these are major issues i take with the game:

1. the mc isn't even a protagonist , just a mascot clown used as a plot device to drive the story ahead. NEVER did i see him take agency as the supposed 'leader' of the group. he's quiet while others step up direct the story's next course. he never acts like a leader whose in commannd in an rpg. just waits for zelos or diana or any self confident alpha in the party at the moment to decide a plan or next move. they always seem to guide him in some way instead of the opposite. he is always passive. no one looks to him for direction. banters never seem to include him at all either. lines of dialogue pass between others and you rarely have the mc included in 1 line at all. sense of just being ignored/unimportant aside from pre-mission narration trying to convince us of his relevance. like too many rpgs are doing now a days: persona, xcom, attack on titan, path of wuxia, kingdom come deliverance, fire emblem awakening, cyber punk, ac valhalla just to name a few.

game's intended focus is all the other guys romances not players. they all pretty much have past close histories with each other that you really can't compete with. progression plays out like this without any control by us and is upsetting. presently ch 8, i can only talk to diana + slave girl once so far while all the other guys have had several convos with girls getting an unfair headstart in this 'competition'.

honestly all this is in bad taste. it seems disgustingly wrong that the girls seem to be disloyally playing the field with everyone at the same time. it's discouraging and upsetting to the point i don't wanna even bother with them. they honestly seem to mostly like the other guys more when comparing scenes. why does the asian archer guy have to get everything? shouldn't mc be the 'babe magnet' in a game like this? and lastly , i heard he even gets to be a king or emperor or something and mc don't get sh*t. zelos an emperor, jules a king, and you get nothing?! in better games that were ACTUALLY trying to give us an ambitious mc with an enjoyable end game outcome, this good stuff always happens to OUR charcter not others. the protag feels more like a party member than a destined epic, driven leader we seen in rpg's standard fanfare. IE Geralt, Shepard, ect. protagonists are meant to be interesting guys with a destiny, not garden variety average joe who cant even garner affections better than common NPC party members. our character seems to be headed nowhere in the end. making the empress a nephilim revived and marrying her and becoming emperor would have made for a fitting end for any protagonist. instead of the nothing he seems to get after all the passive, uninspired hollowness he seems instead made for.

Hard Disagree.

Sure, in the first few chapters the MC is passive and submissive since s/he has no command experience and is suddenly being put in charge. However, after dying they basically turn into a warlord justifying their actions with "we're the good guys and they're evil!". I mean, they literally invade countries overnight with no diplomacy attempts... and in the event of Sayunarri, they already had an invasion plan in place before going into a diplomatic meeting.

Not to mention the chapters invading Veridia and MC going full tilt "I'm going to murder everyone and everything in my way!" and when Lysander goes "wait a minute and calm down!" MC responds with "deal with it beta male".

So, yeah. Though, IMO, I will yield that MC becomes submissive when Beatrix is involved. In regards to "get anything" ... MC is literally an Avatar of God more powerful than the other Nephilim by the end of the game. Plus, as a "babe magnet" he can bond with practically any woman in the game.

Honestly sounds like you got a little too into your power fantasy head cannon and became frustrated when the game didn't explicitly follow it.
