More games like this?
I never played a game like this before. It really piqued my curiosity. Are there more games like this?

Most folks point to Ogre Battle 64 as the closest cousin.

Give us a couple years - and there'll be another SoW! :)

Fire Emblem. I do not know what FE I played, but it was nearly identical to SoW.
Sadly it is a Nintendo thing.

Himeko Sutori probably. Personally I found it too long and boring, but it's the same concept of squad autobattler with each character customizable.

Don't worry the dev all ready working on a dlc for this game and after that they will be hard at work on the sequel chain at their desk working day and night :P to the bone :ccskull: (i am joking here :P)

But more like will be Vanaris Tactics coming out soon (aka tomorow) more fire emblem you got Vestaria Saga 1 and 2 and last one i din't like much but could be fun for yotu fell seal

Soul nomad is a similar one, same squad based, but a bit older

Is that turn-based?

If you can find the original Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen for a SNES emulator, it's another one to look out for, although like the dev said, OB64 is probably a lot closer in terms of plot and maybe a little closer in mechanics. Given how rare that cartridge probably is now, it may be easier to find emulated too.

As a follow-up question from someone with an arm injury, are there similar games that can be played with keyboard only, no mouse or controller required (i.e. Vestaria Saga, but not Wargroove)? I don't care about the graphics; in fact, I prefer clean, simple 2d. For example, Symphony of War looks absolutely gorgeous to me.

Fire Emblem IV - SyW has copied succesfully so many things from this game.

Presumably he's saying Symphony or War has implemented many of the same features he liked about Fire Emblem IV.

Oh, it was just meant to be used as a kind of a "Comma", but I can see how my writing was confusing.. Of course the game I was referring to was FE:IV ("Genealogy of the Holy War")
