Dragoon vs Gunner
Beside one being infantry and one cavalry for squad movement, are there any major difference? Unless you really want a squad to stay Infantry, they seems to have the same stats. I have a lot of Gunners but barely used Dragoons so I was wondering if I should correct that and put some with my cavalry,

I'm wondering that for Lysander specially since his sprite is mounted but start with Gunners so I keep thinking he is a cavalry squad before selecting him.

I have lots of horses (and very few gems :( ), so I made them all Dragoon. Increased mobility is never bad, and I figured I'd take advantage of his.

IIRC, there is one major difference. You can only promote to Dragoons from Cavalry units, whereas Gunners can be promoted from pretty much any male Tier 2 class.

One more very important thing, On tire3 tech, you can change Dragoon to "Light" Cavalry Class, which mean its not only give you movement, but most important is you can Hit and Run... is very useful if you building a Main Dragoons with few front line squad only, go up attack and go back to safe place. Also you can Ambush too.

Before unlock that tech, Dragoon is firearm type which even is on horse but can't hit and run

Oh yeah, the guys I made into Dragoons for Lysander were Water Calvary guys you get with one of the story characters. I don't remember if they were with Lysander or someone else. I kept his gunners as gunners. You only need to have more mounted units than foot units to have a Calvary unit, so those three gunners he starts with don't slow him down at all (I also use a Hospitaler er for healing).

So the limiting factor here seems to be horses. Yes they are equal in stats and dragoons get the benefit of increased movement and hit and run. But you can only ever have as many of them as you do horses. And you cant use Shuffle on cavalry units.
