Best traits for each class
Which ones are considered best or most useful traits for each class (like archer, mage, tank, fighter, assassin/rogue)? What is "Lucky" trait? Is it better to have "Executioner" on lightning affinity archer or maybe "Assassin's Heart"? What about mages?

Try putting smite and executioner on cannons.

I really like when my mages have an extra turn.

For mages and priests I like arcane vigor or arcane barrier. Those two are imo a must if you can get them. Executioner or smite are decent as well, though these classes imo need survivability much more.
Arcane vigor is probably the best ability here.

On my tank I like bodyguard, beacon, Warrior's hubris, unscathed, healing attuned and/or imposing. Pretty much all these are good. Resolve can be decent as well (though I much prefer bodyguard).
Bodyguard or unscathed are probably the best.

On dragons I like arcane might.

On high skill units I like pretty much any of the crit traits. No clue which one is best.

On archers I like cold blooded or precision. Though ones with high skill can also take crit traits. Not sure how good bowmanship actually is.

On leaders I like treasure hunter.

I don't really use gunners and cannons all that much. Not sure what to give them. Smite and executioner seem good though on cannons, as mentioned above. Smite is probably also good on gunners.

Great advices so far. Keep them coming!

For leaders, if you can find leaders with the captain set of traits, for example, Matriarch Rosalie has Soldier Captain, which reduces cap cost of heavy infantry by two. Gunner purpose is destroying heavily armored unit, not sure if smite is appropriate ? Can confirm executioner is fantastic on anything that has only one attack, but does squad wide damage, beatrix and cannons, for example. Gunner might benefit best from Assassin's Heart or Lithe Assault ? Am not sure tbh, none of the traits really attract me for gunners, I guess considering that, smite might work ^^'' I just think gunners are subpar in general, even with two shots, compared to fire mages, for example ><

lucky gives you double rolls for crits and evasion and maybe for status rolls too.
I put lucky on every unit because the other traits can be learned from books but there is no book for lucky.

Captain traits are definitely the best for leaders, but they pretty rare to find unless you do a lot of reloading. Treasure Hunter and Garrison seem to be pretty common Leader traits for purchase.

Does lucky impact Treasure Hunter? Or other traits that don't always trigger? I think they said it impacts many things.

lucky doesn't affect other traits.
Captain trait is not worth it imo because you can feed your units medals to raise their ldr.

But medals aren't that common through the normal course of the game. And the Captain trait will stack with the effect of any medals. I suppose it loses value near the end of the game, but around Chapter 23 its still the difference in getting an extra unit in the squad.

Bummer Lucky doesn't help with Treasure Hunter :steamsad:

It still helps at the very end. I don't have enough medals to put enough leadership on all my leaders to have 9 units, but units with captain traits do easily reach 9 units without artifact/medal usage. There's also another consideration, capacity allows you to equip artifacts in the first place. More capacity = less need for capacity artifacts = equipping artifacts that give you performance bonuses >//< Some leaders certainly get enough leadership to have 9 units on their own without captain traits, but they are rather rare in my experience.
Not trying to necro, but it's worth necro because this thread has LOTS of good info, and I DID find that the wiki states that SKL does in fact count.

But, I can't verify that to be true or not. Anyone save-scummed and figured it out with some meta testing?
