I'm stumped. How do you defeat all enemies in chapter 12?
There's an achievement to defeat all enemies in chapter 12.
I've built up a strong team specialised to tank cannons and gunfire - it turtled and survived.
I was surprised here as the scenario ends suddenly on turn 14 - meaning i can't turtle my way to victory.

It says that 2.1% of players completed this achievement. How did you folks do it?

I made sure the MC, Diana, and Abygale all had two healers in their group. Two healers helps a lot as far as keeping up with the damage dealt. Then I prioritized attacking the cannon units and letting the non-cannon units attack me instead. Cannons can't attack back if they're defending, so you have an opportunity to eliminate them without them damaging you. Archers help a lot on that, as do Stealth units, since both can attack the Cannons in the back row without having to take out the Sentinels first. Abygale with two dragon units can eliminate a cannon squad in one go, so put her on one side and MC and Diana on the other.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the AI Cannons have 3 range, but yours will only have 2 unless you have the range upgrade for them.

One thing that really helps for getting the achievement is to do it on the lowest difficulty.

Not looking for too many spoilers or details - but does it change how the story proceeds in the next chapters? Looks like it would be hard for the story to progress as it does naturally if you eliminate all the enemies.

Impossible to even remotely do on Warlord, so do it on the lowest difficulty if you only want the achievement (I did).

I am not sure how it is on Normal, but I am sure I could make it work; I restarted several times on Warlord to try and make it work but there's too many, too much health, and no backstabbing squad or archers in the world will make up the difference unless several reloads for good RNG and the like. If anything I had more success with Fire Mages. My most successful one did end with no deaths but there were enemies left.

2 healers, naturally, helps a ton.

I nearly made it in my first run(on normal difficulty). There were 3 or 4 squads left, but time ran out. Didn't feel like redoing it though, because it's a long mission.

Sentinels seem to be the key unit here. You probably need at least two squads with at least one sentinel each. At least, I'm pretty sure that if I had that, I would have won.
I only had one squad with a sentinel though, and that was also the only squad that survived when time ran out.

Besides that, the key is probably to choke them at the choke points so all the cannons can't shoot at you at once at the start. Also take out those cannons first and don't finish of weaker units. Weakened units attacking you can be seen as a chance to heal.

It's the same outcome, the achievement is just for bragging rights. Would be cool if there was a slight difference like if they made a cut scene that showed the party knee deep in corpses and a mostly crumbled castle behind them as a sort of "You guys fought so hard you outlived the castle!"

Given the difficulty of this on normal, how doable would you say it is on warlord? I just started a Warlord campaign and am worried I may have to do another easier run just for that one achievement.

I'd say it's prolly better to do a second run, you could get back in a few hours. You can try on warlord but if you manage to get the achievement on Warlord you are prolly built more different then different.

Let me put it this way, on normal these guys will two shot most of your party. And I only won by the skin of my teeth with two turns remaining I shiver thinking what it looks like on Warlord. xD

Since the MC isn't able to retreat during this one, does anyone know what happens do the MC's units on warlord? Do they just die since defeat is inevitable? (Just wondering because I am there now, was going to strip him of all his units for this fight if so)

You can probably do it on warlord if you have a team that can kill or indefinitely tank cannons on the defensive and put them in the castle (which makes cannons do almost no damage to them). It would be a pain though.

first thing that happens when you start the mission is it says "permadeath is disabled for this mission"
