But the saves are weird and don't work with .rvdata2 editors.
I didn't try CheatEngine
So if you have 1000 gold, you need to search for 2001.
But if you check the line and freeze the gold, you can buy anything without using your cash.
So what happens if you freeze gold, buy stuff, then unfreeze it and sell stuff back. Does your gold go up okay?
But now I just try to buy the best noob army at the start of the game. But it crashed for no reason, maybe I recruited to many guys and the game took 15 minutes into the army composition to became instable...
Wonder if once you went to battle, the game realized you have more units than you should be able to afford?
I buy the mercs then fire them. It net me the ressources for the merc upgrade...
Same for the gold, I buy in freezing the cash and then uncheck to sell. And it seems to work just fine.
just tested this for you because seemed like a weird issue. you have to change the gold value to an odd number. multiplying an odd or even number by 2 then adding 1 will always give an odd number. i believe a crash occurs if you put in an even number. otherwise the calculation gives a non integer value which i believe causes the crash to occur
Apologies for the necropost.
LordBlade is indeed correct, and using his insight I managed to edit my gold and make it stick.
Using Cheat Engine lite I isolated and edited my gold at my base menu by:
I used this to lock in 10000000 on character at the second chapter/first town, for my example. This will let me buy out every shop in the game-- allowing me to waste my time savescumming with maximum effect.
