Is Sybil the worst story Leader?
Or am I going to get someone worse? Such awful Leadership - and no Trait that compensates for it either...

I turned her into a soak tank... The enemy loves targeting a unit full of healers, but unless they wipe a unit on the first attack, this squad will heal everything fully after every attack.

1 Sentinel on the front line
3 Templar healers on the middle line
Then when she eventually got more leadership (very slowly) I put more sentinels on the front line.

Late game I ended up with her having 2 sentinels, 3 healers, 2 mages.

I put a paladin in front, 2 swordmasters in the middle and sybil in the back. Then slapped the "+25% damage against bigger squad" artifact on her. She's doing well with this setup.

Of course for that you need to luck up and do find said artifact...

Sybil gets much better later.

What's the name of the artifact? I reloaded for mercenaries and artifacts thousands of times - seemingly - and yet I've never seen that one.

When and how?

+25% against bigger, -25% against smaller - I believe that's the (green) Scythe.
Sybil has a class change at like Chapter 20. It's fairly late game and not overly impactful.

Exactly. Giant's Thresher is the name. It also has +4 STR as an added bonus.

It really depends on a whole lot of things.

She's a great healer with a trait that makes her maybe the best healer, later she gets more leadership but is not such a good healer.

If you have the +10 leadership on everyone maybe not so important though. Also leaders depend on growing stats through capture, so if you aggressively prioritize having her capture objectives her deficiency in leadership is not that huge. If your not thinking about this her drawback will probably compound as more initially capable leaders snowball.

For me one the female archer leader (forgot her name but there's only one) is 'the worst'.

You don't have to keep her as a Paladin when she changes. I swapped her right back to Templar and she went right back to leading one of my Flying Dragon Rider/Sentinels squads except now she has better stats and a lot more leadership.

People don't like Sybil? Sybil's got an amazing trait and she starts with leadership in the 40's. After the first level, I'm scrambling looking for mercenaries who start with 40 leadership to lead a team, and Sybil just starts with it! Sybil might not be able to fit as many units in her squad as Jules and Barnabas who have Captain traits, or Diana or the player character because they start with high leadership, but Sybil's squad can punch way above her weight with her multi-heals.

One thing that helped my early campaign was to take the Apprentice out of her squad as soon as I can, and place him into the player character's squad, then put a Fighter into Sybil's squad. Doing this makes her move one tile faster every round, and she can actually keep up with the army and get XP and seize sites to get Leadership.

She does get better, but after a while I just made her part of Abigaile's squad once the two became bonded so she only costed 5 capacity and there was more room for stronger artifacts.

I always just turn her into my artillery battery commander, she's usually rolling around with 3 to 4 artillery pieces plus 1 or 2 escorts even before I get to her class upgrade side-quest.

I gave her a Valkyrie and a Cavalier (will eventually replace with a second Valkyrie) in the front row and left her with two Hospitaller behind. The unit has cavalry speed and I move her around to heal other units out of combat. The enemy also likes to try and hurt her and fail at it.

Yep, she's a terrible leader

You will be able to pick up mooks off the shop who will be better leaders than she is

Luckily she is getting buffed next patch

She gets a buff in the storyline in the first set of 'gaiden' chapters you unlock
