Brigandine - More focus on monsters and has a different gameplay loop, both the original and it's recent sequel are good if lacking in difficulty. Class system is fairly shallow. Leans towards the army side of things, though only Ogre Battle really has that same sort of style of multiple dudes in a squad AFAIK. Well, there's that one NIS game too but it kinda sucks.
Tactics Ogre - Not my cup of tea but gets a lot of praise. Leans into the gritty realism side of things, has a lot of hidden/missable content.
Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children - Probably my favourite in the genre since FFT was released. Insanely complicated class system, bunch of other stuff too. Rivals the NIS games for complexity. Character archetypes are really fun. Far from the army side of things though, you control less than a dozen characters in most maps.
