It never had stat wipes. That was the dev plan from waaaay back before even starting early access, but it was changed during the first couple months, before any stats were actually wiped.

As for the anti-cheat, yes, of course it still has that, because removing it would take effort.

Thanks, that's good news on the stat wipes/battlepass situation. However I was asking about spyware/malware, not legitimate anti cheat programs. There are tons of reviews talking about this, so I'm weary to even touch the demo.

The anti-cheat IS the thing people were calling spyware/malware. Most of what you see in the reviews is comically distorted, but it's fair to complain that a game like this really does not need an invasive kernel level anti-cheat.
