SMB3 export to SMB4?
I will buy SMB4 eventually. Don't worry devs, I support. Also, I don't have a lot, but can I export anything (names, teams, visuals, etc..) from SMB3 to SMB4?

Nope, no export.

Ok, thank you!

On another note... It's so pathetic to see low sales given that they were backed by EA. With all the EA tentacles, not giving the MetalHeads a much stronger marketing push is beyond me. I mean, look I run a marketing agency and I assure you that even my company would have made them a better sales campaign without the EA backing them - I'm not just saying that. And for peanuts at that, compared to EA.

SMB could become the next MVP Baseball game, which was simply the best.

This is what happens when you basically release the exact same game as the predecessor, but with tacked on "legends" that literally everyone was already creating for the past three games. And judging by the lack of respect put on said legends to begin with, it just looks bush league.

Seriously, Willie Mays (RIP)....his speed is THAT low? Do the devs even know baseball?

The original comment was one that referenced the bad job that Electronic Arts did in marketing this game. I definitely agree as there is only one other baseball game that even comes close to the quality of Super Mega Baseball and it isn't available on PC. Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the world and this video game is literally the best baseball game on PC. There should have been more sales. The low sales have nothing to do with the game being similar to the previous version or it having players with lower stats than you personally agree with. The point is that maybe there are better publisher choices for future iterations. There are many creative ways to market a game these days and EA either needs to get their ♥♥♥♥ together or lose another great sports title.

These guys obviously know how to make a good baseball video game and there is a large demand for that very thing.

There should have been more sales? What's the incentive to buy this game if you already have the previous one, or even previous two? The low sales of the game certainly DO have something to do with it being not really all that different from the previous ones, a lack of any real upgrades to the customization suite, tacked on legends with mispronounced names and half-assed stats (not to mention most of the players chosen aren't even legend level to begin with). It's not like I want this game to fail. SMB is literally the ONLY thing in gaming I give a ♥♥♥♥ about these days. I would LOVE to see it become a big deal, but I've been down this road many times with many other franchises, and SMB4 being as it is just makes me think the dream is over. It was fun while it lasted, but in the end, it is what it is.

What are they supposed to market, exactly? And EA? Getting their ♥♥♥♥ together. Yeah, I doubt that'd ever happen. These are the same guys who put an expansion draft mode in NHL 99 and then waited literally twenty PLUS YEARS just to bring it back as a "new feature." Also, they won't lose the title - they'll just quietly take it out back like they have so many others, and with no guarantee of return. Hell, they only just recently remembered they had the rights to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.

So you are saying that everyone who bought SMB3 or even a previous version are the only people who would buy SMB4 or even a possible SMB5? You don't think there are thousands of steam, epic, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X & S users who would be interested in a baseball game of this quality? I honestly think that if more players knew about the game, the sales would drastically increase. I understand your feelings on the two latest releases being pretty similar, but that's how sports games usually work. I mean look at MLB the Show and it is one of the best baseball games ever made. They have a great deal more resources behind them for developing and advertising their game as well because of the insane amounts of money they make on Micro transactions. Do you want SMB5 to go down that same path? Maybe that is the answer. Maybe they need to make a Diamond Dynasty mode where they sell card packs?
The company developing SMB has a very unique situation in that there is absolutely no competition on Steam, Epic, or GoG. They also know how to make excellent baseball games which no one else can say. So all they need to do is make another high quality game that is actually promoted and advertised. It's not like some new indie developer is just going to come along and make a better baseball game. It's just not going to happen.

Perhaps some people who are new to the series would buy them, sure (although judging by the sales numbers mentioned in another thread, not too many seem to be), but for those of us who have been around since SMB1, at least for me, it's just disappointing that all the emphasis seemed to be on ♥♥♥♥ nobody asked for (legends, streamers) while customization could've used some significant upgrades, as well as franchise mode, which is barebones as hell and isn't really any different than just playing season mode over and over a la SMB2.

I want SMB5, should it happen, to go back to its roots. SMB 1 to SMB 2 was great. I liked SMB 1, but I loved SMB 2. That's the kind of quality I, and many others, would like to see in this series.
But SMB 2 to 3 to 4 IMHO, while still fun to play, hasn't hit me the same as it must've you. I didn't feel 3 and 4 added enough to be as lauded as they are. I mean, sure, the gameplay's still the same, but what is so different about 3 and 4 that they necessarily required their own game? That's my point. Like, me personally, I'd have preferred Super Mega Hockey instead of 3 or 4.

But honestly, all this is moot considering EA has the reins now, and the rot has clearly set in. I think we're both gonna have to look for greener pastures or stick to the older games, because if EA thinks "LEGENDS AND STREAMERS!" are gonna sell this series to newcomers, they're fooling themselves, and showing that they really don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the franchise. Hell, look at how silent Metalhead has been since release. There were people on their subreddit calling them out on it. The signs are all there for Metalhead to be the next developer to be taken out back by EA.

And yes, I know it's EA who told Metalhead to put the legends and streamers in. There's no way that Metalhead looked at the modding scene for SMB1-2-3 and saw how everyone was already creating MLB players of today, let alone legends, and thought that they needed to do it themselves.

Especially the streamers. God, what a waste of resources. Oh, and shout out to the devs for taking away the import tool that we had in SMB 2 and 3 and somehow worked just fine then, but here, apparently it's a problem. Gee, I wonder who told 'em that it had to go?

SMB was supposed to be the alternative to MLB The Show, but all EA's done is turn it into the same old schlock. Sure, the gameplay is still serviceable, but the priorities are clearly out of whack.

I bet MLB The Show's devs would've gotten the Say Hey Kid's stats right at least, too. What Metalhead did is like making a hockey game and turning Gordie Howe into a wimp made of glass.
