However, as long as when your done editing the file in blender, if you export it as a VRM, you should still be able to upload it to VRoid Hub. As long as the model doesn't go over 64MB which is the cap on uploading characters.
I haven't uploaded any models to VRoid Hub myself, since I usually do so on other sites, but I have seen models on VRoid Hub, such as THIS ONE[hub.vroid.com] which seems to use custom models.
The one thing I have noticed though, is all the models with custom assets seem to be unable to be downloaded. This may be a rule of some sort, but I don't know.
(Also wondering if you have a tutorial for doing blender stuff to the Vroid model and showing if the things work, your Marine is so lit)
Should start by saying that I didn't make that marine. I just used it as an example to show you that you can upload custom content to VRoid Hub. The creator of the model is named _. Yes, that underscore is his username... You can see his stuff here[hub.vroid.com].
But, yes, you have the idea. First make the model in VRoid, then import the Vroid character into blender, then add your own models and adjustments to it, then export from blender as a VRM file. Then you will be able to upload it to VRoid Hub.
As far as tutorials for modifications to vroid models in blender, I will have to say any blender tutorial will work. As long as you know how to model in blender, all you really have to learn is how to fit the models you create onto the VRoid character.
The way I do this is by moving the custom model I made close to the character, in about the position I would want it in. Then I would use blenders sculpt tools or proportional editing (I recommend proportional editing since it is more easy to retain the shape of the custom model) to make adjustments to fit the model to the shape of the body.
