Promoted workers are like real life - they just stop working

I tried to search these discussions but didn't find anything describing my issue. I am making good money now but in promoting everyone to master (alchemist, greaser, operator, clerk, manager), they now just stand around in front of their quarters and do nothing. I had to hire all new folks to work because they're not promoted yet. Is this a bug or did I kill my work force by making everyone know everything?

Hey, sorry to hear this, but it doesn't sound like something that's supposed to happen. Either there's a hiccup which you didn't notice elsewhere or it's a bug. To say more specifically, we'd need your save file. Please send us one at [e-mail] along with a brief explanation. Saves are found in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Snowhound\PotionTycoon
P.S. And btw, promoting is only recommended when you actually need higher levels of skill. Otherwise you will just pay them increased wages for almost nothing.

Check your production if say you have a cooker with a potion you don't have ingredients for everything stops. same with all the other production equipment, you will often have to force it to the next item you want made until the materials can be provided.

I have this same issue too.
My workers would have a status saying they're delivering items to X object, but they just stand there the whole time and do not move. This has nothing to do with promotions, as it happen for both novice, grandmaster, master, adept.
The items that they're supposed to deliver, is not available, and they just stand there.

Generally, it sounds legitimately possible that your workers having to deliver something as their current task keep waiting for the corresponding to become available, but the devil is as always in the details.
