若点选一项研究的时候,当前没有空闲的炼金术士,则消耗了玩家的大亨点数却不会开始任何研究。若我有表达得不清晰的地方,请告诉我,我会进一步解释。

Just so other readers could quickly pick up the context, here's OP's auto-translation.

If there is no free alchemist at the time of selecting a research, the player's Tycoon Points will be consumed but no research will be started. If I am not clear about this, please let me know and I will explain further.

It is indeed so that Tycoon Points are charged immediately, but the ordered research should start once a qualified Alchemist finishes their current task and arrives at the Research Lab to work on it.
The only way I can see this not to work is if you manually excluded the Research Lab from all your Alchemists's assignments and the research task will never be attended to as a result of that.
Please provide more details or explanations if you think I'm missing something here.

I don't think it's like that. But after I posted my question, I continued playing for another twenty hours or so and have a clearer understanding of the situation now. I think it's necessary for me to clarify the problem I'm encountering again. Regardless of whether there are idle alchemists, there is a chance that selecting a technology may fail to initiate, specifically manifesting as: the player's Tycoon Points are consumed, but no research is started. The likelihood of this event triggering is roughly between 10% to 20%. This greatly impairs the gameplay experience, especially since Tycoon Points are very hard to come by in the early game, and such events can put players in a difficult position on higher difficulties. I am confident that this is a real bug (now I have the habit of saving before initiating research so that I can reload if necessary). Please take this seriously.

A small update.

We tried all sorts of normal and unusual ways we could think of to activate around 20 different research goals, and they all worked: the tycoon points were consumed and research commenced just fine.

This leads us to believe that there must be a situational component of some sort to your struggles. What this component could be is a complete mystery so far, we don't have any hunches yet.

If you're up for helping us further, though, you could provide the following:
- a save from a house where this issue frequently happens (the save you mentioned you had made before starting a new research will do perfectly)
- a log from a session where the incident happened, ideally stating which research goal activation triggered the problem (log gets overwritten by the most recent session, so you might need to load a save where the problem occurs first)
- a video clip of the problem occurring as it could help point out if there's something unusual going on around in the house or game in general.

Hey there! Just sent an email with an attached save that has the same problem. If I load into the save and click on "Advanced Bottling" to start my research, the points are consumed but the research does not start. I retried it from the same save 5-7 times to no avail, and it has gotten a little frustrating since I can't progress my research now

So did you send anything yesterday or not? We received an email which referred to this very issue and forum discussion. We tested the enclosed save and were not unfortunately able to reproduce the problem with it—the research always starts as intended no matter what we do.
So, if it was your email, we might need more than a save, a log from after the bugged research and a video perhaps.

It should have been sent to you by another enthusiastic brother in this post, because I didn't get this email until now. I appreciate your attitude and efficiency in handling problems. Come on! After receiving your reply, I also wanted to reproduce the problem I encountered, but because I was playing normally and didn't want to waste my tycoon points, I always saved before selecting technology, and then this bug never reoccurred. I'm not sure if these two things are related. In addition, due to the inability to send pictures in the steam discussion area, I have discovered a new bug: regarding the countdown for the availability of the sales desk, I will inform you via email.

我也會遇到同樣的問題,一開始都沒發現,直到某次發現大亨點數不夠用時才驚覺有BUG
希望團隊能盡快修復,目前的解法是研究前先存檔,如果點數被吃掉就讀檔重試
多試幾次能夠成功,但我仍沒找到這個BUG的原因

Did the devs get back with you? I'm sure if they haven't, it was simply an oversight and they will help you now since this is a bug that has been reported multiple times. Right devs?

The logs are located in the same folder where the saves are: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Snowhound\PotionTycoon
The latest Player.log is always overwritten by the most recent play session, so in order to get it to point at a specific issue, you need to load a save where that issue can be reproduced (or already occurred), make it happen, and only then grab the log and toss it to us via email. Please send us both the log and the save. Thank you!
