I read it somewhere too, it was listed on an "upcoming couch coop games article for 2022". Bad move by the devs to not include a local coop option. The same kind of mistake as Diablo 3 - consoles get local play but not PC users. I wonder how many sales they will lose out on? couch coop is increasingly popular with families.

devs please please put this back. interest without local coop just evaporated.

No local co-op no buy.

Was waiting for the same, not interested anymore. They will lose some sells for sure.

this is the alpha test, it is going to be coop on full release. it even says it in the game.

Says where on the game? The store page only mentions online co-op, no mention of local. I’m really hoping for local multiplayer on this one. I love Dungeon of the Endless, but a more action-focused, multiplayer version is no use to me unless I can play it with my family.

Just an fyi, for you and others, even if the game does not support local multiplayer, the Nucleus Coop community will probably add support. There are many LAN and online multiplayer games that can be played splitscreen using Nucleus Coop.

That said, I also hope native local support is added, especially since it was promised early on, kind of lame to back out of that promise. Love these devs and their games though, I only wish the recent strategy games had less DLC and more free content updates.

+1 for official local co-op support.

Just asked in Amplitude's official Twitch chat if there would be local co-op and was told no. Very disappointed. It basically looks like something that's been designed with local co-op in mind, and that was the main reason I was psyched for it. 😭

Local co-op is something we considered (because playing Endless Dungeon with your friend sitting on the same couch would be awesome), but right now we're not sure if we could deliver this without compromising other parts of the game. So sadly, I'm afraid it's not terribly likely at the moment.

Hey, thank you for your time and reply!
Local coop is amazing but it's all good no matter what you decide.

If you can't manage to include local coop, I hope you consider having LAN.
Or at least keep your games as they are without needless drm, because as they are they can be played offline LAN via steam network emulation!

I have no internet at home so this is the only way I can play your games multiplayer with my friends and loved ones.
I greatly appreciate it! So please keep them this way!

Bless your family and loved ones, good luck with Endless Dungeon and the Endless Universe!

No local coop, no buy.

May settle for LAN, but doubt it.

This is maddeningly vague. Could you possibly elaborate, some?

Hard to imagine, for a game that otherwise seems taylor-fitted for local co-op, what could have made this impossible for a game developed with the backing of SEGA, in 2022.

I would imagine that it's important to gameplay that everyone doens't need to be in the same room at the same time, so there would need to be some kind of dynamic splitscreen system.

What i mean is that the game is multiplayer/co-op. But what is not possible is the "local co-op" and with this I refer to Split Screen when connecting additional controllers.
Hope this is more clear.
