- restart PC
- Clear Steam Web Browser Data (Steam Settings -> Downloads)
- Clear Steam Download Cache (Steam Settings -> Ingame)
hm... I usually also recommend
- verify game's files integrity (Right-click on game -> Properties -> Installed Files)
- Repair Steam Library (Steam Settings -> Storage -> Hamburger Menu (yes, it is called like that) -> Repair Library)
Update: I leave this here

No. It just needs to connect at the first time to verify your ownership of the license for your downloaded copy via Denuvo. After that you are supposed to be able to play it offline as well.
Shouldn't sound pathetic here, but to play it twice or three time over, or purely solo will ruin this for my peer group.
The troubleshooting part goes as
Not a game issue but a security app issue.
Can we play together? We just keep getting issues.
Usually "Failed to connect to teh session"
I do not see a reason why not. It might be laggy, though. I recommend you use an open DNS.
The issue is that we can't join each other. We just get error massages.
Failed to connect or Full Session.
Have you tried connecting with other players? It is hard to tell without checking at which end the issue might be.
If you can connect with others, then you know you can connect but you do not know if they can connect. So they need to check it with others too.
I just described in a thread an issue related to security apps. You both can host games?
A rando joint me when I made it public, while he played with a friend earlier today.
We both hosted, and both got the same error massages.
Were you both on the same regional server?
P.S.: for better visibility and your chances to get a developer response, I recommend you make a new thread for you and your friend's issue. That might be better than continueing conversing in a thread meant to be for the FAQ
