Assignment Anya Feedback
We had quite the outpouring of feedback for Assignment Anya, with a lot of constructive criticisms to work with. I wanted to consolidate that feedback under 1 roof to more easily track those discussions.

Patch 1.6.1 will have addressed a LOT of the issues and complaints reported thus far. Please be sure to update your game to the newest version, and let us know if you continue to experience any further issues. Cheers!

I Kinda Sorta Soft-Locked Myself on Assignment Anya
I saved the game with low health, full inventory and no useful items, and then that thing that happens near the end happened (I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm keeping it vague).

I've been trying to get through that part for hours but I'm not skilled enough to do it without taking any damage lol

if you're talking about what I think you are, I've found myself stuck int he exact same spot myself. I've spent quite a while perfecting my timing and muscle memory but it's really getting on my nerve. I think a good way that they could fix this is by putting an item chest in the room before.

After a significant amount of time and a whole lot of deaths, I managed to do it. Then I got an achievement called "Struggler".

Mean, but accurate lol

Assignment Anya Soft Lock
Had this happen after 28 minutes into an A-rank, leaving the room you see Diavola in from the northwest resulted in me ending up in a white room with no exits. Christmas is RUINED.

Assignment anya semi-soft lock
I got to the last section, but because my inventory is full I can't take the healing potion, and i don't have the boots with me, making the escape run totally rng based on the monster spawn... and I have 3 HP. I don't think I'll try to beat this dead run as most of the time enemies are in front of me, chuncks behind and I can't jump.

I think we need a box in the 4th medallion room.

I was finally able to beat this myself with the same situation. While it was a challenge, it wasn't much fun and a box would definitely make it better.

if you move in this room you appear in this room or worse, when you escaping from chunks, the room don't have a door

for the record Chunks will not spawn until you pick up the winter medallion. You can unlock the medallion and not pick it up, walk back to the foyer and put your three medallions in the box (and the zombie mask since you aren't gonna need it anymore). and replace them with the boots and socks to dramatically reduce the difficulty of the chase. If you saved after picking up the medal well you're either gonna have to just master the escape sequence to do it without getting hit or just start over. Since you cleared it most you can get back to the Chunks chase in like a half hour.

Disappointed by Anya
So.... yeah did my first(and honestly only run) of Assignment and Anya and while I enjoyed the feel of it for the first half+the small scares I kinda hate that it is a graded mode that is 100% different to the main game.
Even worse all the new achievements tied to this mode mean to 100% the game again I need to do more attempts which seems like a slog rather than a challenge (unlike Axel and any one hp runs which were actually fun and kinda what I signed up for when buying the game).

Also I kinda feel like Anya's addition adds very little lore wise besides the diary entries and the ending/endings are tonely a miss (I get the joke of it, but is a bit too tongue in cheek even for me).

My mind may change with the challenges for the main cast(despite the bugs and complaints there) but so far the update has actually killed the love I had for the game.

Yeah, it was pretty cool for a bit, but just ended up frustrating at the chase scene near the end. I'd like to see a mode that's similar but with weapons that have limited ammo.
I really want a kinda "creative mode" where you choose the character and starting weapon/s. It'd be awesome to run through as Axel with a chainsaw and double barrel.

I hate the chase too, more with the random enemy spawn, sometimes there is no way you aren't getting hit. I hoped to see Anya meet Cordelia or other members of the cast but well so far I did one run only, and I get disappointed you can't go back to open the doors you miss now that you have all the talismans they force you to the chase and end the run.

This is still a major newbie trap because most first-time players would want to take the three medallions with them, leave a slot empty for the winter medallion and then keep the candle and another preferred item to navigate the library, likely the choker or the zombie mask.

Meaning most first-time players will have items in their inventory that will not help them with the chase scene. And even if you know about the chase trigger, that still means making the winter medallion avaible, then backtrack to an item box and prepare for the chase before getting the winter medallion. It's terrible level design.

I mean the chase is expressly designed around you not having those items. Knowing a little trick to make the chase easier is not a bad level design issue since it's balanced around you not doing the tricks.

Not really. Parts of the chase have enemies blocking your way, and without the boots you need to rely on RNG to hope they don't chase you, or they don't block the path, while there are low obstacle that really seems there to be jumped over. I really doubt they wanted an huge random difficulty spike at the end.

Furthermore, they give you an health potion, but in 99% of cases you cannot take it, which is another thing really off about this part.. it's just there to mock you or something?

Anyway, I can also see why they didn't put the box here, at the end of the chase you need to put the medals on the door, so not having them might softlock you at the end.

Still... pretty stupid part.
