It is available on Steam, Oculus (Rift as well as Quest stores).
This is because in order to rotate the board you need to hold both grip buttons (For Oculus and Reverb G2 at least) and do a rotation motion with both hands. But there are 2 controls bound to this function. The other is scaling the board, as in increasing and decreasing it's size. This means if you don't move very specifically you are most likely going to scale the board and rotate at the same time. That does not feel so good lol.
It takes a moment to figure out how to get around this. I have found keeping one hand completely stationary and then using the other hand as a imaginary crank handle REALLY helps with this. It's not perfect but it is considerably better.
Other then this no, you really should not experience a lot/any motion sickness. And yes personally this is THE 2021 VR game of the year. It's basically a simplified Gloomhaven for VR and I love it! I really hope this helped! :D
It would be nice if one of the thumb stick could be used for zooming in and out and rotating left and right with the option to use snap turn that's modifiable. A 45 degree snap turn I think would solve my problem.
Problem is this game is so good that I'm willing to put myself through the motions of feeling sick, whereas with other games I will not continue to play them when they mess with my head.
So devs if you get to read this post please consider adding some form of snap turning that can be selected in the game options.
- Practice in short lapses if you get slightly sick take a pause ( you can even close your eyes instantly and take off your HMD) then come back. Doing this gradually your brain will get used to.
- Use a Fan. Place it near your pc and point it to you while playing, this trick actually killed motion sickness for many players.
- if you are playing standing use a small carpet on your center position, because that helps your brain identify that you are actually in that position on this "dimension" and helps you beyond any chaperon walls limits.
Seriously, is just a matter of time until your brain get's used to understand that you are not hallucinating, and you will be able to enjoy so many new titles in VR :)
