I tried the tilted map, but it's really awkward. I really want to just zoom in and walk among the game pieces, but the bizarre grab-to-move mechanic makes that untenable. It takes forever (well, relative to other VR games) to just do the very basic task of moving/turning myself, so I end up trying to just play from a far enough vantage point, at which point the neck pain returns.
I want to like this game, but it just leaves me feeling disappointed by the poor camera controls, and/or the pain in my neck.
I've had the best experience by honestly sitting cross-legged in the center of the play area, and dragged the environment to eye level for me so I'm looking straight at all the pieces. Obviously I have to pan it all around at times but it's helped.
sit down in a chair?
I do this with the game Deisim VR :) You feel like an even greater God :)
