Stuck IN the director's desk

I see that this same thing has happened to other people, and the issue hasn't been fixed by the dev. Aside from trying to download some random save file, is there any other way to get UNSTUCK so I can legit finish the game? I have the achievements, but I wanted the satisfaction of going through the actual exit door!
