Tournament not 'opening'

I saw my tournament thing have a 0 hour 10 minute timer left, so figured I'd prestige just before hand for a tiny bump (yeah, not super useful but eh). But now when I came back to start the tournament it says it will open in 2d 23h. I have closed and reopened the game in case that was it, but no avail - all other daily things reset like Tech ship and daily rewards.

Did something happen to today's tournament or is my game being screwy?

Yeah, looks like they skipped the tournament or something, no idea why or how, it would be nice if they told us something.

"The server hiccup'd, it happens a couple times a year. The dev has to manually start the tourney. Last time this happened, we lost an hour of tourney time.
