And it's not like it should be hard to code.
It's a simple button and a request to delete an entry in the database or put value to 0 in the database...
Why do you want to reset?
I want to challenge myself against my friend who started recently. Also noticed a different way to play that I want to try.

Other game have a disclaimer that they will not restore save. And it's so easy to put a security/confirmation checkbox before deleting.

Because of tournaments and leaderboards. To catch cheaters there are checks implemented which require server connection.
That ... I personally don't agree that someone spending real money on a virtual currency should get refunded after hard resetting.
You spent that virtual currency. Want to destroy your purchase and get refunded... Don't make sense to me. It's like I purchased a car. Crashed it and asked for a refund.
Anyway. If the developer can manually reset my progression, that would be appreciated. I assume they use the steam ID in their database.
