Love this game but it's almost impossible to find a game with friends, get in the game with friends, let alone finish an online game with them...

Yeah ... there are issues with the number of users and the region.
But if you can join Discord, interacting with other users may solve the problem.
For example, in Discord, users are hosting events.

Are you having issues with disconnects once you're in a match? Or just trouble finding a match with matchmaking?

the matchmaking does take a while sometimes though it wasn't as bad the last time we played. but there's about a 50/50 chance we either get kicked out of the match immediately when it starts or at some later point. our party of 3 is also gone when that happens.

There's a known bug with disconnects at the start of a match which we hope to address in the coming weeks. Getting kicked out later in a match usually only happens if one of you happens to not have the game updated. Force quitting steam and then checking for updates may help, and you can also go to the game's steam page, settings, properties, local files, and click verify integrity of game files, since sometimes they can get corrupted.

just a little update, things have been running much smoother. we haven't been kicked any more and matchmaking seems faster too. good stuff!
