Switching Teams possible?

Just wondering if there is a way to switch teams when playing in a custom lobby. I was trying to play on the same team as a friend who just got the game so that we could practice setting the ball to each other, etc while he was getting used to the game. We were always on the opposite team and couldn't find a way to switch. Is this possible, and if not, will it be in the future? Thanks
