I apologise if this has already been answered, But can I play this game on VR (Oculus Rift), With a friend who playing on PC (mouse and keyboard)?

It is not possible yet sorry. We do have a proof of concept 2D version but is still a work in progress.

Are they cross-buy too? I'm trying to decide whether to buy it on PC or Quest 2. But if I don't have to choose then that would be great.

Cross play with quest 2 on steam and quest 2 standalone does not work at all!
Click on game and nothing works,.

Please make sure you are creating the game from the "create game" tab, looks like you are creating it from the "Campaign" tab, and that by default creates the game in offline mode (so peaple can't join you but still can see your game)

Is the 2D version still being considered? I'd really like to play this with my friend as a commander on mouse+keyboard, while I'm in VR.

As a VR player, I believe VR games should remain VR exclusive because I want to know my VR games were designed to use the unique capabilities of VR to their full potential.

Games that merely have "VR support" are games I usually skip buying because it suggests to me the game was designed primarily for flatscreen and then ported to VR.

I`m playing Pico4 steam VR with Quest 2,3 crossplay. It works, but tickrate is seems low.

Seems this is an old question, cross platform works, I've tested it: one player on steamPC and another on Meta/Quest3: everything works very well.
