Do titans fight each other?
Hi,

In my first game I decided to be neutral and fight both cyborgs and aliens. However what I see is that the titans of aliens and cyborg, which are both enemies of each other, do not attack each other. I have killed 1 titan now, but I hope they are not only targeting me.

Anyone has other experience with end game titans?

No, I haven't tried that yet but I suspect their first priority would be to exterminate the independents. If they didn't, all you'd need to do would be to sit it out and wipe out the last man standing.

Since you're not in an alliance with one of these two factions, you won't be able to see if they're attacking the other NPC faction's units and their titans very well. AI Titan duels tend to go on for a very long time without some intervention on your part.

If you ally with one of the NPC factions, the titans definitely attack each other though.

Yes and no.
They tend to go first for the weakest enemy, or something like that.
I try to either avoid combat: No units of my own within their range (3).
Or to have a strong defensive line: Then they often turn away and look for another target.
Or to destroy them.

Generally I think they will attack, whatever said oponent is focusing on. I have been allied to them, and had to solo the other as their units decided to huddle at the top center of the map and not do much. I've seen the Titans almost avoid fighting each other, as my First time with Zephon, they focus on smacking down the enemys and avoid brining down the Titans, and we ened up getting an allied victory and not a Zephon victory.

Ultimately to answer your question, I really don't think they have a focus.

I hope that is not true, because that makes the game totally not fun as independent and is also not immersive. If I am an independent, I would assume there is a battle between me, Zephon and the Voice faction. There is no reason for them to ally and attack me suddently. Right now I have to fight 10 titans in total and they are moving as 1 stack, obliterating everything on their path. This really is not fun and it makes then no sense to play as independent?

EDIT: I take my words back! The titans are actually fighting each other! I have just seen 2 Zephon titans being destroyed by 4 Voice Titans. Cool, love it!

The Acrin and Zephon forces do in fact fight each other by the end game, but the titans for both sides have a tendency to delete low tier units quickly so you won't see it unless you've allied yourself to one side. That also happens to give that side an additional titan per player faction that allied with them. First game I won I sided with the aliens against the machines along with 1 other AI faction so it ended up with our side at 5 titans to Zephons 3.

I found the opposite, they go for the chieftess first and then against each other, if you are unlucky your citiea are on their path and they will attack you too before finishing the reavers

Isn't slightly unbalanced...? I can easily guess who won the game.
Is the end-game phase so unchallenging?
Is it possible to fight on equal terms against the titans without even allying with one of the 2 major factions ?

I'm still hesitant to take the game. It seems very expensive to me, compared to similar games. The atmosphere/ambience could decide me, but I like the endless games where I can watch the AIs get on each other's faces like in a wrestling match.

Try harder difficulty or enable mutators to make game even more harder?

It's possible - even have achievement for doing that on Ironman and 0.7% players claims to already have it.

You can disable the Escalation and play for a "normal" Domination (with allies) victory.
