Achievements disabled?

Just got the game today, and when I quit a game I see a pop up saying "Achievements disabled" when I get to the end game score page.

I am not using any mods, just wondering why?

You might have accidentally activated Dev mode. It gives you access to a debug menu that lets you manipulate the game almost at will, but also disables achievements for the current campaign. Turning dev mode off will not re-enable achievements, instead you need to load a save prior to the turn where you activated dev mode.

I don't think I have dev mode on. I usually play for a few hours then just end the game. When viewing the end game stats is when I see it.

It is not just one save, it is every game I play.

That is odd. Unfortunately, it was the only idea I had. Hopefully someone else can help you.

Some achievements seem to be gated behind actually winning the particular playthrough.

I am thinking you are right, I've unlocked 2 or 3 now, but I am still getting the message.
