cheating "ai"
at which "difficulty" level does the enemy not just plainly spawn in units and rush me to death no matter what? i can deal with "neutrals" but every single faction on a normal setting getting 10+ units at turn 30ish is just ridiculous. kills the fun and makes me just quit and never come back. there are hundreds of games i can chose from, and this is not how i want to spend my limited amount of free time.

So far I only played as undying soldier, recruiting commander and Valkyrie and two cyber heroes, maybe I should also recruit the two Voice heroes, strangely there are no rules which forbid that

worst case, I would even consider building a city next to them

No, it's not. If focusing on unit production, you can quite outdo that.

I think the game explicitly states that the AI does not cheat at normal setting only on the ones above.
So confirmed AI cheats on higher difficulties instead of Gitin' gud?
Wendek 18 de jan. às 2:18
Yes, like in literally every strategy game ever. The cheats are kind of mild in this game tbh, it's "just" loyalty (which translates to X% more resources gained per city) and free starting xp for their troops. But there's no intrinsic buff to their units' stats for instance, or free additional cities like in Civ.

No. Just in civ and the even more lazier clones. Because the devs are just that . lazy. why write differnt code for different difficulties if you could just add a multiplier.
And because of people like you, this will never change in civ style game.

I don't play with cheaters. Because of this policy I haven't been able to play a single strategy game for years. The computer is a cheating bastard.[tvtropes.org]

i was just waiting for that someone who posts this. get gud.. thanks mate.. have to be a pro like u, should be plaing the game at least for 4 years before saying a single word. u know what? f*ck off. I had a bad feeling about the game from the start and after 5 starts with every single "outcome" being exactly the same no matter what i do (tech, spam, diplo) its just is frustrating beyond reason.

Come on, man.
I won the tutorial and then won my second game on hard difficulty, with only 10hrs experience.
It´s not Zephon, it´s you, sorry! :steammocking:

So are you a pro gamer, AI isn't a cheating bastard, or both?

What exactly do you mean by a pro gamer?

AI gets slightly higher loyalty and experience on hard. But the game tells you so, I don´t consider that cheating.
Luward 18 de jan. às 13:03
So the AI gets a handicap, not extra dmg, HP, production, movement, population, etc.
sIg3b 18 de jan. às 14:44
Yes, though loyalty is a modifier for production & research. So +10% loyalty translates into 10% extra production and research in the early game. It´s like having 1 1/2 free loyalty buildings.

Experience bonus means all AI and neutral units start at Level 2 at hard difficulty, meaning they have slightly higher attack and toughness until you catch up.
