I've just tested a game run to turn 30 with no neutral units getting killed, and no crash occurred
Apparently, this only occurs on the first unit I kill in a game, if I make it past that first enemy death (and I really don't know what might be making me :D) the game appears to work fine
Will wait for a fix!
P.s.: playing on Linux via Proton 9.0, but honestly I don't think it is relevant for this case
Just out of curiosity how much ram you got? i got 64gb does that matter?
found a post here talking about c++ programming and StackOverflow. and they get 3221225477 when they tried to access (read, write or execute) invalid memory.
is that relevant?

However! On a hunch, I decided to find the driver manually, rather than installing the driver through Nvidia's flippin' experience portal wotsit. I went and found the driver on the site, downloaded the driver and ONLY the driver (Don't go with the download for the Nvidia GeForce experience) and after that installed, it seemed to deal with the problem.
Now, this was the same sort of error but on a different game, but if folks haven't tried it, maybe give that a go and see if it works. I've had issues with GeForce driver updates in the past, so yeah. Hope it helps.
