Zephon has 8 leaders yuu can choose from, all of them are specialized different and you can develop in any pf the three paths . The thee paths are Religious Void Monsters, Robot Cyber, and Human.
Zephon has a fourth non playable path of aliens for wild fauna/neutral faction, you can ally with bit solely will be playable woth playable new leaders probably in next expansions.
I would rather have them focus on updating Gladius with either more DLCs/Mechanics/options or just work on making Gladius 2 with better graphics/animations/mechanics etc.
Why suck on GWs teet, when they can do their own thing. 40k isnt even grimdark anymore.
This
Zephon is extremely similar, probably too much for some players, but it is also different "enough". Beside adapting to a few new/changed stuff, Gladius players might find their way vey fast. GUI, moves, resources, systems, are really very much same-ish.
No more 40K licence, that’s the huge improvement over Gladius, IMO. From here, it can go anywhere, and it feels fresh, not overdone, beside having post-apo-alien-cult thematics, and influences from many popular sources.
It’s still heavy on the WARgame, not much on the 4X. You have to eco to build an army, mostly that’s all.
You can have some relations with other factions, try to make peace, but the tools are scarce, and everything feels war-oriented.
The 3D is "better", and you can rotate 90° left/right to enjoy the view. Units are more detailled. Terrain have more variations.
The worst part is the factions/units system, as instead of thematicaly strong ones, you have a "do it all with some slight variations". Once you’ve gone all Human, and all Void, and all Cyber, that’s all. Or do Human and Void... Or Void and Cyber... But it will be the same mostly. Not as strong as Orcs vs Sisters etc. DLC with new branches to come ?

How to rotate left/right? ---edit: got it, middle mouse button---
So yah...a ''reskin'' lol
I have truly no idea....i fell out of love after 15 mins, when i saw it was basically gladius without warhammer 40k LORE....
