trying to verify integrity the game files removes the patch, so i keep re-pasting the DMMd_steam_r18 folder contents (system.npk and script.npk) into the data folder (the thing where you open it up with “Browse…”). it “applies” the patch again, but the problem is still there. i can’t see my precious peanuts 😢.
i think the issue might be the missing “patch” folder in the DMMd_steam_r18 files, making the transfer incomplete. just an assumption. any help? i’m freaking dying 🤬🙏
FIXED IT!! thankfully dug the discussion thread and came across a conclusion. im not tech-savvy at all, and im still grasping the basic computer terms, so please do correct me if im wrong.
this is what i did to resolve this problem, but you could use this guide no matter your situation if you want!
1. to make things clearer/easier, if you installed the patch, i suggest deleting and reinstalling the patch. make sure to go through deleting EVERYTHING.
2. run verify integrity of game files to organize the game files (probably).
3. after reinstalling and verifying game file integrity, unzip your DMMd_steam_r18 file. it has to include “patch” file folder, script.npk, and system.npk. open the unzipped folder if it hasn’t opened yet.
4. after unzipping, select all the files inside DMMd_steam_r18 file, and copy.
5. after doing so, locate the game files. to find the game files, open Steam and go to your Library and right click DMMd. Click on Properties then Local Files. Then click “Browse…” The game file should be named DRAMAtical Murder.
6. in the game file, paste the contents of the DMMd_steam_r18 file that you had previously copied.
7. after pasting, verify integrity of game files. it would probably take a few attempts for others, but keep verifying that shi!!
8. launch the game.
if the version looks the same, you’re most likely fine anyway. if you check the config menu and look into version info, there’d be some subtle yet notable changes. mine says [SCRIPT VERSION 1.00s]].
even though i deleted my backup files, it somehow maintained my data 🥳. pick a juicy scene to check it out if it works. i picked mink’s intro.
additionally, im somehow able to gain achievements while the patch is active.
hopefully this step-by-step method is clear for you guys huhu😭. im really doubting my lack of knowledge on the terminologies and just really happy this worked out well in the end, so i decided to share.
happy peanut hunting!! 🥜
hii i was wondering how u put back in ur saved data? I made a backup and I dont wanna start the game from the beginning😭
Unfortunately for me for some reason the patch still does not show the full scenes... I have just completed a cleaning and re-installation so let's see if that works....
(update1)
OK FINALLY DONE IT. after some searching through other posts and reddit my game validated (and only validated) successfully when you import the FULL and original unzipped folder. no opening and copying and pasting those folders within the DRAMM_R18 folder just paste the folder as is once unzipped. now.... to speedrun to the legendary pubes scene...
(update2)
yupp. .aaaaaaand there we have it folks.
the secret is to move the folder as is, download folder into downloads, unzip folder in downloads, open game files via steam (or if u know a faster way), drag unzipped folder into game files, validate and enjoy!
no need to open and paste specific files and replace.
Thank you SO MUCH, I kept trying to substitute the files in the DMMd folder and it wasn't working, but this method worked perfectly for me!
