porting saves over?

basically the title. if anyone has figured out how to port saves over from a non-steam version of the game to a steam install i'd love to know, i don't really wanna start over.

I'm assuming it's just moving the files over to where the launcher says "Save Location", but I don't have a Steam key yet and can't check.

See, I did try just dragging and dropping the saves over but they didn't show up in the Steam version.

Copy the contents of the save folder 1.00 into 1.00s. I just tried it.

When I try this the steam version opens up as a black screen, hangs there for a moment, and then I get hit with the program not responding popup. I'm wondering if this has something to do with having my system set to the Japanese locale?

Nope, I checked this with English system locale and it doesn't work with that either. Frustrating.

Weird. Drag and drop from 1.00 into 1.00s worked for me perfectly. I even checked old saves to ensure the patch content worked.

Do you have the patch for the Steam version? Maybe that's the cause.

Nah, my game is unpatched. Well, the Steam version I have is unpatched, the saves from the other version of the game has all the naughty bits in.

You probably need to buy the patch. You could contact CS and simply ask them for the content since you bought the special edition
