How to use trimmers?

Hi, I am new to the game.
Got the trimmer but how do i use it? Am playing on a PS4 controller. Do I have to get up from the lawn mower to activate trimmer or...? Tried both ways nothing happened.

I can't find the trimmers anywhere. Even if I selected it on the contract.
