Side discharge any advantages over mulcher?

I thought, maybe it would need less power to use a side discharge but that does not seem to be the case. Why should I bother with side discharge, when I simply can mulch with most mowers?

IRL I think this is indeed the case but, as you said and as I concluded as well, in-game I have not noticed this and thus have not found any use for a mower with side discharge (unless there are contract that require it, but I haven't gotten one... yet....).
