I guess for the same reason people come here to complain about it.

Also, might help to think about it for a moment.. How many people do you think own any of the mowers in this game? Or a yard big enough to even justify one. I mean look at the ProLine H800 that's in the game.. They retail for around $52,000 new. So why not give people a chance to see what something they can't afford, or are unable to do, is like. That's the whole point to sims, to see what something is like if you can't do it.

Its a chill game to play when bored. I just enjoy doing cool patterns with the stripes. I don't have my own lawn.

You might be onto something but i think playing a lawn mowing sim of this calibre probably have more in common with playing other games, like say Doom, than it has in common with actual RL lawnmowing.

Like others have said, it's a relaxing game to play listening to podcasts before bed. Somewhat similar to those "idle clicker" games but with perhaps a bit more immersion.
