Back in October 10, 2021 the store page read..
Pretty sure 2 years and counting is not the definition of.. "soon"
Probably not. Or at least it's not likely to release for another several years. The steam page even states that prior to the Steam's store page being made, the game was in development for 3 years. Since the Steam page was made back in 2021 and it's now close to the end of 2023, that puts the development at least 5 years, and it just seems either they aren't doing anything, or they are in feature creep. So likely we won't see this game come out until Elder Scrolls 6 releases...
But that's just my opinion.
Oh no!
Something that maybe vaguely makes it feel like devs can be held accountable?
Yeah no... we can't have that.
The poor devs!
How will they ever get to sleep on their piles of patreon money if there is so much as a whisper of accountability?
We should just pay our monthly fee and continue to fund their every expense year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year until they finally excrete out less than half of what was initially promised after collecting the level of money normally used to fully fund, advertise and develop two or six AAA games or.. more likely.. just abandon the project entirely.
How dare Steam disrupt that um.. uhh ..creativity?
Development is obviously slow and I personally dislike the trend of crowd funded devs putting store pages live years in advance but it does look like it'll be good when they eventually release.
Also this game has an actual publisher behind it, unlike a lot of similar titles that are self-published, so they'll be pushing for review builds and to keep the project in scope etc.
Also people actually prefer to pay for goods, not for services, and on Patreon you can't really purchase the game, you can only purchase a service subscription with a complimentary Steam key, you might say it's the same as buying the game, but it's not the same. Even Steam won't count your review for the game activated with a key!
