PS5 Screen Tearing
Hi,

Apologies for making a topic regarding an issue with the PS5 version. I don't know where else to report this.

I just started the game on PS5 and the game has a rather large and noticeable screen tearing issue. It's unplayable on Performance Mode, but manageable in Quality mode.

Thanks :cozyspaceengineersc:

Hi @Aeternull 🙂
Thank you for reaching out to us.
What Display/TV are you using, please?
If you could share a short video of the screen tearing, this would be great.
Cheers

My TV is Samsung Q90C

Also, I'd like to mention that the Viewcone controls on PS5 is broken. Highlighting an enemy with it doesn't show his vision. And there is no "pointer" in the middle of the screen to help aim the viewcone.

I hope a fix can be done soon because I can't wait to play this game T_T
Hi, I have this issue too on the PS5 version sometimes it is better sometimes it's awful. I use a Gigabyte M27u 4k 160hz monitor that uses HDMI 2.1.

There are a couple of other bugs that I've seen from the 1st mission. The L2 prompt in the tutorial is missing showing a a blue and red checked square with the word bad written in white.

The character portraits are missing and sometimes show up with corrupted graphics.

I will try to add screenshots and video when I can

This is a quick video that shows the tearing it happens via Remote play as shown below, on the PS5 natively and on the PS Portal too. VRR on the monitor does not help either.

Seems like the wrong build of the game to me, I have reinstalled twice but no change

Hey @Chet Denim and @Aeternull
Your videos helped a lot.
Thank you for reporting the three issues.

We got difficulties reproducing the Black Portraits and the missing Buttom Prompt.
- What control settings did you use?
- Is the buttom prompt missing in the Main menu under Extras - Tutorial - Command mode - Colt M1911, too?
- Did you have black portraits from the beginning of the game or appeared this after changing any HUD or Video settings?
Hey @Rolf

New bugs/issues:
-Going to EXTRAS from the main menu and TUTORIALS tab, the video of the tutorial disappears when pressing any button. Also, there is no way to navigate the selected tutorial tabs. These issues doesn't exist if the TUTORIALS tab is opened while in-game and not in main menu.

-As for the missing portraits. The game initially (yesterday April 9) didn't have this issue. Later mid the tutorial mission the portraits disappeared. Reloading quicksave, manual reloading, reloading older checkpoints, and starting the game from the main menu NEW GAME all results in black/blank portraits. Like the bug became permanent.

-I started a new game to try and reproduce the the tutorial that showed it. However I encountered a game lock bug (can't progress). After getting the Green Beret and get the tutorial on how to select commandos, the game isn't registering me selecting him (selecting him while he's missing his portrait). Even though I am actually selecting him and have the circle under him, i can't control him and the screen is locked in zoom in with black and white filter. FIX: pressing quick save unlocked the issue and the game returned to normal (still missing portraits)

-Continuing the game, the missing button prompt issue didn't appear, and all button prompts in the tutorial seems working fine.

-Reminder, viewcone controls are very broken.

Everything was done under Commandos control settings.
It was after a restart of the game and system that the black portraits appeared I have to reinstall the game to get them back.

I am at work so I'm doing this by remote play so i cant adjust the system video options at the moment.

With regards to the button prompts they are missing in the tutorial menus as well.

the Portraits have now disappeared again ( this also effects the character select wheel as well btw) I set it to performance mode and restarted the game and now are gone.

The version of the game is 1.000.000 as per the PS5 system menu

Just to update the portrait corruption issue is a PS5 Pro bug, as I have installed on a base PS5 (launch model) and the portraits render as they should; however after a restart of the game and either a new game and reload of a save file they have now disappeared.

The screen tearing on the base PS5 is still as prevalent.
And the missing button prompt is still there on either PS5 version

Thank you for all the details.

Regarding the Tutorial Video and navigation issue:
Did this work before? It should be possible to navigate withing the specific tutorial section in the Main Menu via D-Pad.

Regarding the Viewcone: You should be able to cycle through the enemie's viewcones via D-Pad Left. There is no pointer for this.

Regarding the game not registering you selected the Green Beret: The hint to select both commandos was still displayed and did not progress properly? The main quest should proceed normally, although you do not save and load the game.

Could you please reinstall you game and check which issues (portraits, tutorial button prompt, missing tutorial videos in particular) are still present after reinstall?

Thank you very much!

Thank you for the additional Info and the reinstall.
So the portraits disappeared after setting the game to performance mode and restarting. Did you then load a savegame or started a new game?
Have you changed any other settings like Brightness or UI-Scaling?
Thank you :)
No no changes to the UI or brightness etc all default values. The disappearance happens both with a save game and a new game. So this reproduces it:

1. Install fresh copy of game start either a new game or load old save.
2. close game ( I didn't change ANY options at all)
3. start game up choose new game and the portraits have disappeared.

it doesn't matter if restart the system after the first launch the portraits never return until I IReinstall.

I don't know if it worked before. I only checked them recently when you asked us to do it. Here is a video of the bug:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixlyfvS8iKg&ab_channel=MohammadAlsaad

As I mentioned before, no bug when I view the tutorials while a mission is loaded. The issue only appears if I view the tutorials from the main menu

The ViewCone tutorial says "An Enemy's vision is hown by a View Cone. To see it, press CIRCLE when hovering over an Enemy." First issue with this tutorial statement is CIRCLE button is the prone button. Also, CIRCLE doesn't do anything regarding viewcones except if I press and hold the left D-Pad and press circle, it'll remove the viewcone marker. Also, you mentioned D-Pad left to cycle through enemies viewcone. This does work, but doing so keeps opening the viewcone menu, which has the option to place a viewcone marker when pressing SQUARE. If I place the viewcone on the floor, I get an eye icon over a flag surrounded by a circle. If I manage to place the viewcone on top of an enemy, I only get the eye over the enemy, but doesn't show the actual view of the enemy. Here are some images:

This is viewcone on the floor. It works

This is viewcone on enemy. It doesn't work

This is viewcone on the floor, but D-Pad cyclying is on, which overights the viewcone on the floor.

I went to reproduce this. This issue was actually the game wanting me to quicksave to progress. I think I went through the Green Beret selection too fast that the tutorial on the left didn't update properly to show that now I'm supposed to quicksave to progress.

I will do that and let you know
EDIT: After reinstalling the game. The portraits are back. I even closed and opened the game again and the portraits are still there.
The main menu extra tutorials still not working.
The viewcone flag (pressing square on the floor) now shows dash lines from enemies that are looking at it, which didn't appear before.
