It's not dumb, even in previous games there was specialization of commandos abilities because the game needs to be balanced.
In regard to inventory Commandos: Origins is actually much closer to 1st installment ie. Comandos: Behind Enemy Lines (BEL).
"Modernized Loot System will take over Inventory System
Starting in the Closed Alpha, players shared that they miss collecting ‘loot’ and having a backpack with an inventory system in place. This feature would add depth and more options to gameplay. Following this feedback, we went back into discussions and research for potential approaches.
After careful consideration, we’ve opted for a modernized loot system that aligns with our vision of staying true to the Commandos series’ core, prioritizing stealth rather than giving the player the ability to just blast into enemy territory. What does this mean for Commandos: Origins? Some enemies have ‘lootable’ items such as ammunition and first aid kits when they are eliminated or killed. You can also find loot, such as collectibles and uniforms, in certain locations in the environment. Once you pick up an item, this is directly available for the selected Commando via his abilities without needing an additional inventory (i.e. backpack)."

I do coz it makes the game much more complex and I don't have to run around like an id10t with every character all over the map when I find weapons that only they can use to just pick them up. In C2 I could just pick up whatever I wanted with any char, even give it to the dog (if it fit in his inventory) and take it to whoever could use it. I don't understand why people are defending this laziness of the devs. C1 didn't have inventory system coz it was the first title of these series and the technology also wasn't quite there back then. Why are we going backwards in everything? Cost cutting?
Is this answer serious ? Not giving the player the ability to play how he wants and blast all ennemies around ?
Wtf. The inventory system is what made commandos 2 + 3 amazing.
Most of ppl play stealth anyway … but what if we want to throw grenades with the sniper ?
There is no logical reason to not implement the inventory system exept for beeing lazy.
Are u dumb or dumb? I didn't say that every char should be able to use all of the weapons but at least to be able to pick them up and give them to who can use them. I played stealth even in C2 and C3 so what's your point? Try blasting into enemy territory in those games and u shall see what's gonna happen. Your argument is as dumb as their decision to be lazy with this game.
There is no inventory in Commando 1 or even in Desperados or other Commando style games, the inventory doesn't add anything.
Bro i am litteraly on your side 😅
I was quoting the developers answer 😅🥲
soz i didn't catch that. 😅 i was reading it and replying on my phone so prolly misread it. soz
