There are other good commandos-like games, which are not from Minimi.
Sadly not a single Kalypso's commandos-like game is on par with them.
One thing that struck me as somewhat annoying/odd and frankly alienating their main target market (retro PC gamers)
... (from a quick glance) is the original characters are SKINS? And you have to buy the deluxe edition? Seems the base game is still wildly overpriced to me for a start? If I'm not mistaken?
Sad to see. Very sad.
Other than that the devs seem to have taken Mimimi's games as a template and that works out well.
No they didn't. I ran them flawlessly. Games like these have a short life, if they don't come out swinging they fail.
When it comes to how successful these games become frankly I couldn't care less ever since Mimimi closed up shop. Those guys have only put out bangers yet after Shadow Gambit they couldn't continue making games so I'm just happy that the genre still exists and that in general it's getting pretty high quality releases.
Not exactly on the level of Mimimi, but Artificer did a great job with Sumerian Six. Check it out if you haven't so far.
