is there a way to find a shovel in the play test?

Of course, it's on your wheel (where you can find shovel, wheelbarrow, scaffolding, trowel, ...). On a controller, it's the upper left trigger.

For m+kb, it's the middle mouse button, i.e. click your mouse wheel. Devs, you should add mouse buttons to the control mapping screen and/or have an initial tutorial message about how you open the equipment wheel.

2 minutes running around trying to find the shovel. Devs, as mentioned above, maybe a fully fledged tutorial covering the tool wheel would be a start.

I agree. I thought I had to buy a shovel, but the buy equipment was grayed out. Now I know that I gotta just use my inventory.

There is a full tutorial, right there in the New Game menu

Yeah, found it afterwards. I thought they were there for recap purposes and they would be in the main game to guide you through. Lesson learned.

How can i change the binding for the tool wheel? My MMB is broken so i cant use it

My mouse button doesn't click either. Chose another button but shovel doesn't do anything. my hand moves but it doesn't dig. Watched a video and followed it but still no digging.

Use the right stick (RS) upwards while you are holding right trigger (RT) over the yellow flashing areas not inside them.
