New Pricing Model
In the continuing quest to support development of the game while maximizing player happiness, I've changed the pricing model again today.

The limited time (one week, one month, 6 month) purchase options are gone. (All limited time purchases previously made will continue to be honored, of course.) Each category of puzzles can now be unlocked with a one-time purchase. The price depends on the number of puzzles in that category. So for example you could unlock all 27 "Landmarks" puzzles for $7.99.

Puzzles can still be unlocked individually (and custom puzzles can only be unlocked individually), but instead of having to pay $0.99 to unlock each one, you can now buy "puzzle credits" and use these to unlock the puzzles. Puzzle credits can be purchased one at a time for $0.99, or in bulk for a discount.

Hopefully this will address a lot of the concerns players have expressed here and in reviews. Let me know if you have any thoughts on these changes, thanks!

I have not purchased anything yet, but since you decided to go with this pricing model I will be making this my go to puzzle game. Now I just have to wait till pay day to start making some purchases. Love the looks of the Fantasy and Pets, they will be my first 2 purchases. Thanks for making such a great game that I will be able to play with my family.

Thanks for introducing the new pricing model. My friend and I have been waiting for this so we will be buying.

I'm not sure for the custom puzzle price.
You ask us to pay for each custom puzzle. This isn't like we purchase rights to pictures.

Is it too hard to put one single price for full access? No fee at each custom puzzle and such?

You just changed a subscription model to a massive IAP system, this is equally bad.

I dont know about that, we can still play the custom puzzles it is just restricted to 40 pieces, I think thats fine, I mean I have hundreds of images on my computer, while I think 40 pieces is still low its not like I would ever play a thousand piece puzzle more than once or twice ever. 99 cents is a perfectly fair price for that imo

99cent for the funcitonality, but per puzzle? No!

0,99$ per puzzle to permanently unlock it and play it with your friends... A Ravensburger Puzzle with 1000 pieces usually ranges from 9,99 - 14,99€ which means 1ct per piece. But here you can go up to 2000 pieces, and the price is only a tenth of 9,99€ and you can meet up online with friends, jump in and out at every point without having to meet up in real life. (I'm 22, and for the past 16 years I've been doing jigsaw puzzles alone because no one in real life around me was interested in it.) I think for what this game provides, for all the work that has been put into it, it's a great improvement from subscription model to Puzzle-Chip purchases. It gets closer to being in a market, purchasing a puzzle, and even tho it's not entirely like a real life experience, it has its own unique digital experience. And the price is super. What I would suggest is to create custom images, but ones that are worth it, pictures that mean something to you. No casual landscapes and stuff. That might be a difficult task for people that arent creative, but as a media designer I additionally see the challenge to come up with images that are worth paying money for. I see it like this: Purchase a bag of 20 Puzzle-Chips and then create 20 images that are worth the chips and something that maybe friends will also enjoy putting together with you.
With all those aspects and what you get from your spent money, I dont see a problem with the price / the current payment model.

There's tons more manufacturing and shipping stuff involved in a real life puzzle than digital.

Plus, the physical thing is always better.

I wouldn't see an issue to pay 20$ or something to fully unlock the game, kinda like almost every game.

I had just paid for the subscription for 6 months. It literally started today on the 22 and now I have no access to anything I had paid for, so I am not okay with this change! It means I wasted my money. There should have been a grandfathered system to use up current subscriptions! I really enjoy this game, but buying the packs when I should have full access for 6 full months ( literally expiring September 22) is really not okay! I honestly should be refunded. It is bait and switch in this situation. You took away what I paid for after I paid for it. It says they will be honored, but that isn't true. I only have access to custom puzzles now. I really enjoy this game and have put over 170 hours into it in only a month, and this is very disappointing. I would have continued to pay for a long while for this game.

Hi Gaidinsgirl. I checked the log; On February 19 you purchased all puzzles for one month for $9.99. That expired on March 22. On March 5th you also purchased 6 months of unlimited custom puzzles; that will continue through September 5th.

If I'm playing with my friends does everybody have to unlock a puzzle or just the host?
Laserstormelpies Mar 27, 2021 @ 5:12am
Just the host.

Can you please just get rid of all the micro-transactions and make the game $10? This is the most fluid jigsaw game I have come across and it's a shame the entire game is botched due to the terrible pricing. No more testing subscription services or needing to pay a dollar every puzzle including custom ones. Just please, I would recommend this game to others if it simply had a flat price like a normal game.

but how would ongoing server costs be paid for? a small cent amount of money per puzzle can at least guarantee that future puzzles can finance their own server costs. knowing that, im fine paying for a bundle of chips that cost me like 63cent each.

Steam offer their own infrastructure.
You can also have dedicated servers, or just a tool like Gas Guzzlers Extreme has, just launch another exe to start your own server in 5 seconds.

Servers cost are a ridiculous excuse for a subscription based puzzle system. (Yeah, it changed but it wouldn't have changed if it wasn,t about all the complains.
Laserstormelpies Apr 15, 2021 @ 10:24am
hey im not trying to defend of find excuses here and i dont think server costs were their excuse for the prices, also im probably not the best when it comes to technical stuff like server hosting, but it just felt justify-able for me that way
