Help with getting past Vincent boss fight
So, first encounter with Vincent. I just can't get past this. Tried 15 times in a row and I die each and every time. What's the deal here? I'm trying to dodge his lethal cane attacks and then punch him but he basically takes no damage because of his shield. ANd I run out of mana to regen.

Someone has any tips or a way to just skip? I read that it's not possible to change difficulty? Is it worth putting in another 30 min to get past this part of the game or should I just uninstall?

I got past him, apparently you just need to inflict like 10% damage until it's over. So just running around, keeping the distance and then strike quickly when he blinks eventually did the trick. Still, 30 min wasted, and I now regret that I didn't select story mode difficulty, because even the "ordinary" enemies are very tedious to take down...

Okay, so since you beat the game and know that the final fight is just a repeat of this one but instead of 10% you have to do the full 100%--what compelled you to beat the final boss? I uninstalled from the tedium. Genuinely curious how you were able to stomach how terribly balanced the finale is.

Edit: Nevermind, beat the boss. You can kill it in four hits via a weak spot that the game completely fails to communicate to the player. Thanks, YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMGRIdMsQJg&ab_channel=frogboyx1Gaming

Well, it took a fair share of attempts for me to get him. And different from the youtube-video I only had 60% HP and 60% AM (I can see that his bars are filled way more so I guess he was better at exploring to find the bonuses, or maybe you start with mote point on lower difficulties, I don't know...) I do suspect his diffuculty was way lower than what I played on because on my playthrough, two hits from his cane-sword basically took me down to 20 or so HP,.. so I did not have the luxury of trying out close combat as that was certain death.

Instead I found out that right after his range attack (the flaming chains or whatever) I would quickly send off three or four stun attacks, and then just run around and avoid getting killed until I could repeat, and once you fill his stun bar, just run up to him quickly and do the burst attack to inflict massive damage, allowing continuation to the next phase.

I probably died twenty times, sometimes just five seconds after chekpoint reload since I didn't succedd in the initial required dodge maneuvers, but eventually I managed to kill him (the boss fight has three phases and I never got past the first phase in the first 20 or so attempts) in one go.

If I hadn't figured out how to successfully attack him in another ten or so retries, then yea that would have been the end for me.

Fella in the vid said he's on normal and I believe him; I did it on normal in about 30 seconds once I learned the weakspot attack the game completely fails to communicate. Without that, the fight is a 10-minute gauntlet. Awfully designed!

The worst final boss fight ever conceived for sure. One thing I can say for certain is that I'll never replay this game nor get any DLC. But might give a sequel a chance.
Huge skill issue on your end. If you think the Vincent fight was “ worst final boss fight ever conceived for sure” as you said you must be new to video games. As we say git gud kid.

Not worst as in the hardest, worst as in the most tedious and uninspiring. As I stated in my reply I finished him in one go once I figured out how to even inflict damage.

And I might add I played on hard, with no auto targeting and using a gamepad (a tool I never use except when watching netflix on PS4) and having only found one HP upgrade and two AM upgrades, so not really a hard boss to beat if you just know what to do...
I used WeMod for the second half of the game, just to experience the story.
Tried a few times. Not gonna waste my time trying to complete this game anymore. That is ludicrous and brainless garbage.
I'm trying to beat the finale on hard. I find it to be a weird difficulty spike. He almost never drops his red glow and if ANY attack lands (which is likely because unlike other enemies, his attacks are way harder to dodge), all consecutive attacks will also hit, where you might as well just start over.
Meanwhile, my timing gets totally thrown off every time it goes slow-mo when dodging.

Really frustrating.
Yeah, it's trash game design and should have been fixed/updated.
I seen no chance, too. Even on easiest difficulty mode. Maybe a bug in gameplay.
I actually managed to beat it the other day. Seems like if you take a break from the game, it gets a lot easier since you're not mentally conditioned to fight the same way you do everyone else. I say this because dodge timing is absolutely critical to winning this fight (especially on hard) whereas dodging in most other parts of the game is pretty flexible, so you have to get yourself in the mindset of dodging at very specific moments. Just be patient and keep dodging.
